PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CELLS,TISSUE,ORGANS,ORGAN SYSTEMS, ORGANISMS

  • Cells- basic structure and function of living things
  • Tissues- made up of cells which work together to perform specific activities
  • Organs- made up of tissues. Examples- heart and brain
  • Organ Systems- groups of two or more tissues that will perform a specific function for organisms
  • Organisms- living things that carry out basic life process. They can take in materials, energy from food, and wastes.

SKELETAL/ MUSCULAR

  • Muscular- the muscular system is responsible for movement in body
  • Skeletal- provides movement, support, blood cell production, etc

Untitled Slide

INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM

  • Provides protective covering
  • Maintains homeostasis
  • Epidermis (outer layer)
  • Dermis (inner layer)
  • Hypodermis (beneath dermis)
  • The hypodermis is not a true layer of skin
  • The hypodermis is loose connective tissue that binds the skin to the underlying organs

Untitled Slide

CIRCULATORY

  • An organ system that provides nutrients from circulated blood to body for nourishments

Untitled Slide

RESPIRATORY

  • The respiratory system is used to pull in oxygen for the lungs

Untitled Slide

DIGESTIVES

  • This system turns your food into nutrients and then turns the nutrients.
  • It uses the nutrients for energy, growth, and cell repair

Untitled Slide

NERVOUS

  • Sends impulsive messages about the body to the brain
  • Consists of the brain, spinal cord, sensory organs, and all the nerves that connect the organs

Untitled Slide

ENDOCRINE

  • The collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction sleep, mode, etc.

Untitled Slide

EXCRETORY

  • A passive biological system that removes excess and unnecessary t materials from body fluids of an organisms
  • Helps maintain internal chemical homeostasis and prevents damage to body.

Untitled Slide

REPRODUCTIVE

  • Female- two ovaries that produce eggs and female sex hormones ( estrogen and progesterone) .
  • When the ovaries release ovum ( mature eggs) they are released into the Fallopian tube
  • Male- the scrotum controls temperature of the testicle. Testes produce sperm cells and sex hormones. Testosterone is male sex hormones. The urethra is the passageway for sperm and urine.

HOMEOSTASIS

  • Is a term that describes both the survival organisms in ecosystem and to describe the successful survival of cells inside of an organism
  • Internal environment kept stable regardless of external enviroment
