PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE PRINCIPALS OF INTERIOR DESIGN

BY ERIC TREVINO

WHAT I ALREADY KNEW

  • Having a focal point and a general theme or color scheme throughout is vital
  • Having too many colors and poor organization can lead to disarray or even a boring setting
  • The concepts of symmetrical and asymmetrical design
  • Details are important to have in a room so the room has dimension and life

WHAT I LEARNED

  • Radical symmetry can give a room life and create an interesting appeal
  • A sense of unity can be made with subtle pieces that help make the house coherent as a whole
  • How to incorporate rhythm in multiple fashions: progression, contrast, transition, and repetition
  • The scale of the I furniture needs to be taken into account when the size of the rooms are being designed.
