Summary:
Safe Haven is a romantic and mysterious book. Katie ran away from her husband Kevin because he was constantly abusing her and made her his slave. Katie comes to a small town in North Coralina called Southport. She lived in a small, abandoned cottage.

She worked at Ivan's. She always go to a local grocery store and that is where she met Alex and his two kids Josh and Kristin. She became friends with her neighbor Jo and opened up to Jo about her past. She wanted to move on and start a new life and don't want to remember the past.

Katie and Alex started to gain feelings for eachother. Kevin has been looking for Katie for a quite awhile. Kevin eventually comes to Southport and finds Katie. During that time Jo had moved.

When Kevin found Katie he tried to to kill her with a gun because he wanted her to go back with him but she refused. He also said he will kill any man who Katie loves. Kevin shot himself instead of Katie.

He eventually died. Katie finally told Alex everything about her past and why all of this happened. At the end Alex give a letter to Katie from his wife that past away.

Alex's wife who passed away was Jo. After all of the hectic, Katie stayed in Southport with Alex, Josh, and Kristin.
