Cirrus

thin, wispy, high level clouds made of ice crystals 

Cumulus

  • puffy clouds that sometimes look like pieces of floating cotton, flat on the bottom and grow vertically.

Stratus

  • look like a huge gray blanket that hangs low in the sky, can also be seen as fog

an instrument that measures atmospheric pressure

heavy storm that consists of rain, strong winds, lightning, and thunder

  • develops over tropical waters with strong winds of more than 74 mph that spiral inward toward the low pressure center

Tornado

  • rotating column of air that has harsh winds, visible as a funnel cloud that touches the ground.
