SOLAR ECLIPSE

THINGS TO KNOW

  • Solar eclipses can only happen at a new moon
  • This happens when a moon passes between earth
  • And the sun and partially blocks the sun
  • Solar eclipses don't happen every month because
  • The moon's orbit (elliptical) is tilted by 5 degrees
