WHAT IS PTSD?
PTSD(post traumatic stress disorder) is a an event that occurs when you are witnessed a traumatic event.
Veterans are the most common with PTSD.
Symptoms include nightmares, depression, emotionally cut-off, flasbacks, irritated, and anxious.
Behaviors include hyper vigilant, constant drugs and alcohol, thoughts of suicide, isolated.
2 types of treatment include counseling and medication.

In "Solider's Home" Harold Kreps, the main character, has PTSD.
He is emotionally cut-off from his family because he stated that he doesn't love anyone.
He recently returned from world war 1.
The bacon fat is hardened to the plate, symbolizing his own heart.

"In Another Country" main character, the Major, has PTSD.
The Major lost the love of his life from an illness.
The Major believes that they could have married earlier if not for the war.
The Major, in conclusion, is emotionally detached.
