• Maria came from mexico to work in a maquiladoras (foreign owned assembly plant)
• Payed $27 for forty-eight hour week, Many workers had healthy problmes because of epoxy
• A teacher came to teach them about their rights
• They begin to fight for their rights and gain adequate ventilation, air conditioning, gloves.
• She becomes an organizer with the border committee of working women
