  • Secretary Seward stabbed by Lewis Powell.
  • George Atzerodt left mission to kill The Vice President.
  • Booth yells "sic semper tyrannis" running from the kill.

april 15 1865

  • Edwin Stanton wrote "Abraham Lincoln died 22 minutes after 7 o'clock".
  • Lincoln passed away officially.
  • Edwin Stanton sparked the man hunt in honor of the president.
  • Chief of police sent detectives to Washington to investigate.

april 16

  • Booth and Herold meet Samuel Cox and Thomas Jones.
  • Booth and Herold hold out in the pine thicket for the night.
  • Two men (Not Booth and Herold) cross Potomac River alerting union troops.
  • lafet baker got news that booth and Harold may be crossing Potomac River.

APRIL 17 1865

  • Booth finds out about Powell's brutal attack on the Seward house.
  • Thomas Jones plans for the trip across Potomac River.
  • The Union Cavalry passes by the pine thicket Booth and Herold are hiding in.
  • lafet baker got news that booth and Harold may be crossing Potomac River.
  • Thomas Jones says to calm Booth And Herold "You see my friend, we must wait."

april 18 1865

  • Booth and Harold are at the pine thicket.
  • Jones got paid a third call and he risked going to jail.
  • Booth find out that he killed the president.
  • Booth says that this was his "Best Act Ever."

APRIL 19 1865

  • April 19, 1865 marks the day of Lincoln's funeral.
  • Lincoln's funeral was one of the saddest times in American history.
  • Thousands of people packed just to view Lincoln's open casket.
  • Lincoln was put in a simple "Rail Splitters" coffin just as he had asked.
  • Detectives went right to Booth's sister Asia and confiscated everything related to Booth.

APRIL 20 1865

  • Maryland, two teams of detectives were planning a raid that would take George Azerodt.
  • Dr. Mudd was questioned again by the union cavalry.
  • Stanton's proclamation: A reward was posted offering $100,000 for Lincoln's killer.
  • Booth and Herold would attempt to cross the Potomac River to sanctuary in Virginia.

A BAD MISLEAD

  • Booth and Herold headed to friends of Herold's for Food and other supplies.
  • Union Troops and Detectives still on the search for Booth hoping for the large sum of money.
  • Booth and Herold are mislead and now in Maryland in stead Virginia.
  • When Booth and Herold were in the most trouble they did NOTHING.

  • Booth and Herold finally reach Virginia from the correct route.
  • Booth and Harold rowed out into the Potomac river.
  • Booth and Harold contacted former confederate Mrs. Quesenberry.
  • Mrs. Quesenberry gave Booth and Harold there Next Stop Dr. Richard stuart.

APRIL 24

  • They spent the night at the Garrett's farm.
  • Lafayette Baker got the telegraph that said two people went across the bridge.
  • "I think booth has crossed the river and I want you to go right now" said Lafayette Baker.
  • Soldiers went to Dr. Mudds house to arrest Mudd.

APRIL 25

  • Booth asked for a map of Virginia so he could find a horse.
  • Booth had a lazy day because his injury got worse.
  • Cauvery found out they were only a day away from Booth.
  • Booth wanted to stay the night but he did not.

  • Booth and Herold sleep in the tobacco barn.
  • Booth and Harold get locked in the Tabaco barn.
  • The cavalry arrest willy jet at star hotel he helped booth cross river.
  • The cavalry burn the farm and tie Harold to a tree.
  • Boston Corbett kills Booth and says "God told me too."
