BACKGROUND INFORMATION

  • Born: December 5th,1901
  • Place of birth: würzburg
  • Death February 1st, 1976
  • Field of science: Quantum mechanics
  • Other: Nobel lecture December 11th 1933

CHILDHOOD

  • At five he was shy and sensitive, then as he aged he became confident
  • Growing up his brother and him had a continuous competition.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • He found a way to formulate quantum mechanics in terms of matrices
  • He helped create the hydrodynamics of turbulent flows
  • Atomic nucleus
  • Cosmic rays
  • Subatomic particles

DIFFICULTIES

  • The hardest part was when he had to set up and prove his formula for quantum mechanics in terms of matrices because it was a observation based formula

BENEFIT

  • The world today benefited from Heisenberg by creating jobs and by furthering the understanding of quantum mechanics
  • He helped further the motives of German scientist
