To me monumental architecture is a monument that has some sort of tie to that civilizations history.for example the great pyramids of Giza in Egypt and Durham cathedral in England.

MONUMENTAL ARCHITECTURE IN EGYPT

  • The great pyramids of giza
  • The sphinx
  • They are all found in egypt

the monuments still exist today.the pyramids were used as tombs for there pharaoh and queens. The Sphinx was created for khafra.

  • The most important monument are the great pyramids of giza
  • They were the tombs for there leaders
  • Helps us understand how things worked in there time
  • Brings a lot of tourists who wont to see the pyramids

The purpose for monumental architecture is that it makes the place more memorable it brings lots of tourists so they get money for it. The pyramids and the cathedral did fulfill there purposes.
