George Harrison played the lead guitar and sang back up vocals
John Lennon played rhythm guitar, piano, and sang lead
Paul McCartney played bass guitar, piano and alternated lead singing
Ringo Starr was the drummer/back up vocals.

HOW THEY MET
First Paul McCartney met John Lennon and he was invited to join his band the Quarrymen.
George Harrison joined them and they played regular gigs at a club called The Casbah.
They were joined by way later by Ringo Starr who played with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes

POPULARITY
Their manager Brian Epstein encouraged a change in the band's image
There music and humor made them became big in Europe
In 1964, they broke through in the US, and the rest of the world.

BRITISH INVASION
On 1963 the CBS Evening News ran a story about the Beatlemania in UK.
People in the US wanted this music and they turned in to
"I Want to Hold Your Hand" live, the first airing of a Beatles song in the US.
They also appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. 75% of American watched it.
Also, "Thank Your Lucky Stars" to promote their single, Please Please Me,

BEATLES IMPACT
They Beatles revived the youth on both sides of the Atlantic.
They created self-identity and music-based culture
They were also a force for political expression, social commentary and contemporary lifestyles.
