Types of Closures

  • They are Stiff
  • Best used in flat areas rather than in curves, seams, or over folds

Button Holes

  • Need to be secure & evenly placed
  • Must be long enough for buttons to slip through and remain in place
  • Button holes should be reinforced with interfacing to insure duribilty
  • They are placed on extensions called Overlaps and Underlaps
  • Horizontal buttons tend to stay buttoned better during wear

Hook and Eye Closures consist of 2 parts: A type of hook and a receptacle for the hook. They hold up well under strain, so they are used in places where other closures such as snaps might break
