CORE

  • The core is the inner most layer of the earth.
  • The core has two parts an outer and inner core.

CRUST

  • We live on the earths crust.

CONTINIENTAL DRIFT

  • Continental drift is the theory that the continents were once a super continent called Pangea but they moved.
  • All the continents have moved due to continental drift.

HYDROLOGIC CYCLE

  • This is the way the water interacts circulates on the earth.
  • When the water evaporates that is apart of the hydrologic cycle.

TOPOGRAPHY

  • Topography is the difference of elevation of landforms and their composition.
  • Topography can be represented in a topographical map.

TECTONIC PLATE

  • The tectonic plates are the sections of the earth crust that move.
  • Tectonic plates move because of continental drift.

SEISMOGRAPH

  • The seismograph is the way of measuring the force and duration of an earthquake.
  • After the earthquake the scientists told us what the seismograph said.

RICHTER SCALE

  • The Richter scale measures the magnitude of a earthquake.
  • On the Richter scale that earthquake was a 3.

RING OF FIRE

  • The ring of fire is a are with a lot of earthquake and volcanic eruptions in the Pacific Ocean.
  • There are a lot of volcanos in the ring of fire.

WEATHERING

  • Weathering is the process of rock down.
  • The rock was broken down by the wind which is weathering.

EROSION

  • The movement of rock are sediment.
  • A river can be a type of erosion.

FAULT

  • The edge of a tectonic plate that touches another.
  • The San Andreas fault is where to plates meet.

DRAINAGE BASIN

  • A drainage basin is where the water drains and leads into a lake.
  • One drainage basin leads into lake Waco.

ATMOSPERE

  • The atmosphere is the layer of gases that makes up the outer layer gases on earth.
  • A rocket has to break through the atmosphere.

BIOSPHERE

  • The combination of the hydrosphere, lithosphere, and atmosphere.
  • Everything is apart of the biosphere.

LITHOSPHERE

  • The lithosphere is the land and ocean floor of the earth.
  • We live on the lithosphere.

HYDROSPHERE

  • The hydrosphere is all of the water and how it interacts with the earth.
  • The oceans, rivers, and lakes.

LOESS

  • Loosely compacted sediment sorta like dunes.
  • Loess are made out of small pieces of rock that has been broken down.

HUMUS

  • The substance that is formed when plants decay.
  • Humus helps make up soil.
