The Book
The Alchemist is A book about a boy called Santiago who tries his hardest to achieve his dream, which is finding the treasure in Egypt. One of the things that makes "The Alchemist" such a great book is all the feelings and emotions that it contains, and that is what we will be talking about today

Love
Love, is one of the most powerful emotions in the world and it has a major effect on the book. Santiago finds a girl, Fatima, who he falls in Love with, Love makes the plot much more interesting and creates a great feeling of determination to return to the person/thing that we desire and have great amounts of affection for

Hopelessness
Another huge emotion that exists is hopelessness. This occurs in the book when someone steals all of Santiago's money and he is far from home with no hope. What makes this feeling so big is that one does not know what to do and feels as if he has no purpose and does not have a way to fix things. However this can be overcome by something else which brings us to our next feeling

Determination
Determination is not only a feeling but also a quality. It takes place in the book when Santiago has no money but he decides to work for a crystal merchant for an entire 10 months and still goes to Egypt to find his treasure, not only here but throughout the book because how many challenges Santiago faces but still has the courage and strength to continue his quest. The reason this feeling is so powerful is that there is always something that motivates you to try your hardest and never give up.

Happiness
Happiness is arguably the biggest sensation in the world. This occurs in the book when Santiago has found his treasure and realizes that his task is complete and he must go and find Fatima. Happiness and joy make the world a lot brighter, it creates a sensation of no worry which helps all humans
