In Ohio there is a lot of places to visit with friends and family. One famous amusement park is Cedar Piont. The reason why it's so popular is because in some of their rollercoasters at the top you can see Canada. They also have lots of zoos and many other water parks. One of the most common zoos to visit is the Cincinnati zoo, that is because of the multiple exhibits of bugs and rodents. Other popular exhibits are tigers, lion, rinos, and a bird show the displays birds from around the world and special tricks they were taught.
In Ohio the have many museums like history museums, music museums, and art museums. One fun place to visit is the Great Lakes Science Center, it is located in downtown Clevland right next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Mueseum. It has exhibits on advanced energy, myth busting, a fun house, and a Nassa Glenn visitor center. The rock and roll hall of fame is located on the shore of Lake Erie next to the science center. It opened in April 20 1983 founded by New York. You can even take classes there!
The Indian war started in 1754 and ended in 1763. The Indian war was against the French and British, and Indians as allies. The French have all rights to Britain over the Ohio territory. In 1802 state government was create authorized by congress. Next year Ohio became the 17th state, and the only state past the Allengheny mountains. Zanesville was named the capital but six years later it was relocated to its present day capital Columbus. In 1834 an anti-slavery society was formed. Cincinnati the first professional baseball team was created in 1869. 1879 an Ohioan Thomas Edison create the lightbulb and was the fist state to have electrical lights.
The man who invented the seismologist ( a tool to measure the scale of an earthquake ) died. The Wright brothers created a new wing for the plane which allowed it to glide longer 1901. 1905 the wright brother's Flyer was the world first practical airplane but attracted very little attention. 1908 a fire at a elementry school killed 172 kids and 3 adults. 1914 the last passenger pigeon died in Cincinnati Zoo. 1990 a hot air balloon hit a television tower four people died.
Ohio has lots of rolling hills in the North. It borders Lake Erie which right next to it are the Lake Erie plains. The Appalachian plateaus are on the eastern part of the state. The Campell hill is the highest point in Ohio. Ohio has lots of water, it has over 44,000 miles of rivers and 2,500 lakes. When you think of Ohio you don't normally think of earthquakes but Ohio has had over 200 earthquakes of the magnitude of 2.0 since 1776.
Ohio's name means large river because of the Ohio river. Ohio is known for its very good agriculture and natural resources. Ohio has mined 3 billion tons of coal since the 1800's. It also has drilled lots of natural gas and oil wells. Ohio has lots of forrest which helps with all the timber the cut every year. They also found iron under the manoching valley.
