EXTREME WEATHER

THUNDERSTORMS,TORNADOES,AND HURRICANES By:Travon Richardson

Thunderstorm
A thunderstorm is thunder and lightning and typically also heavy rain or hail.A thunderstorm looks like a lot of cumulonimbus clouds and thunder and lightning as a mix.Thunderstorms form when an air mass becomes so unstable that it overturns (convects) violently. The cumulonimbus cloud grow to extend out to a 100 kilometers.A thunderstorm can cause flash flooding, killing more people each year than hurricanes, tornados,or lighting .Some conditions you need for a thunderstorm is instability through a reasonable depth of the atmosphere,a thunderstorm need enough humidity to sustain, and a thunderstorm need a large amount of static. If I had to survive

in a thunderstorm I would build my house out of bricks. You should take all of your stuff in your basement especially metal products so you want get shock or your products.

Tornado
A tornado looks like rotating winds.A tornado looks like rotating clouds and it is like a funnel shape.Tornados are formed when cold air drops and warm air rises and the warm air eventually twist into a spiral and forms a funnel cloud and the sky turns a very dark green color and then the tornado starts it's destruction.A tornado path,or the width of the tornado on the ground, can range from as small as 10 yards to in excess of a mile.A tornado can lift strong framed houses from the houses foundation.Car sized missles thrown over 100 metres and a tornado could overturn trains and make rooftops blow off.

Strong wind conditions are associated with tornados.I would build a house out of cinderblocks.During a tornado you should build a safe room for your family or pack a emergency preparedness kit that will meet the needs of you and your family for three days.

Hurricanes
A hurricane is a huge storm that can be up to 600 miles across and have strong winds spiraling inward and upward at speeds of 75 to 200 mph.A hurricane looks like a eye made out of clouds.A hurricane starts as a tropical wave,a westward moving area of low air pressure. As the warm moist air over the ocean rises in low pressure areas then it produces strong gusty winds as the air pressure drops and there are sustained winds up to 38 miles per hour.Hurricane, tropical cyclone in which winds attain speeds greater than 74 miles per hour.Wind speeds gust over 200 miles per hour in some hurricanes. With hurricanes being as powerful as they are,it is not surprising that upon landfall they

cause damage and destruction.Even when the hurricane has yet to make landfall,it's effect can be dangerous. However, most of the damage caused to man and nature occur as a hurricane makes landfall.I would build me a house out of big cinderblocks and big bricks because these is are the 2 most strongest building products ever made. Here are some precautions that you will need for a hurricane. You need to stock up on battery's and you need to always remember to turn off any gas leaks and remember do not wait till last day to purchase supplies (food,water,etc.).
