CHAPTER 16

  • Received a vision to go to macedonia
  • Went to europe for a brief time

PHILIPPI

  • Paul and silas were followed by a woman
  • Paul drove a demon out from her
  • The magistrates decided to arrest them
  • They were beaten and thrown in prison

ESCAPE FROM PHILLIPI

  • An Earthquake came and opened the cells
  • The jailer attempted suicide when he saw this
  • HE eventually repented and he spoke the word of god
  • When they heard this, the magistrates tried to release them
  • Paul refused to leave unless the magistrates came themselves

CHAPTER 17

  • When they went to thessalonica..
  • The unhappy jews created a mob
  • IN beroea, the jews were more accepting
  • However, the jews from thessalonica
  • Went to borea and caused problems

ATHENS

  • Paul didn't like the city of idols
  • He debated with the jews in synagogue
  • But he also debated with philopsophers
  • Many athenians went to learn something new

AEROPAGUS

  • Paul gave a speech at aeropagus
  • He spoke about how people are made to worship god
  • That god will acccept us always
  • And some people converted

CHAPTER 18

  • Paul went to cornith
  • Tried to convince greeks and jews
  • He left them when they refused to listen
  • The lord told him to continue preaching there
  • He stayed for a year and a half

GALLIO

  • The angry jews brought him to the tribunals
  • Gallio refused to be a judge because...
  • It was a matter of beliefs, and not a crime
  • The jews beat up the synagogue official...
  • In front of gallio, but he didn't care

SYRIA AND APOLLOS

  • When paul was in syria, he cut his hair
  • When he was leaving, he said he would come back
  • In ephesus, a jew named apollos spoke about jesus
