The Chinese language is the oldest written language in the world ,with at least six thousand years of history. Chinese character inscriptions have been found in turtle shells dating back to the Shang dynasty.

There is not one specific person who created the chinese language.

It is spoken in East Asia, throughout China and Taiwan.

Chinese writing is traditionally written from the top of the page and is read from top to bottom.

The history of chinese characters can be divided into 2 major periods: ancient writing and modern writing.

With these 2 periods , there are 6 major writing styles, starting with the earliest form of chinese characters which were inscribed on oracle bones from about 3,300 years ago

Oracle bones are pieces of turtle shell or bone, normally from ox scapulae or turtle plastrons, which were used for pyromancy – a form of divination – in ancient China, mainly during the late Shang dynasty. (Vocabulary word)
