Cellular Respiration

  • Process in which cells convert food into energy
  • Energy is in the form of ATP
  • Cellular Respiration can be divided into three major phases:
  • Glycolysis, Krebs Cycle, Electron Transport Chain

Photosynthesis

  • When organisms covert light energy into chemical energy.
  • Storing chemical energy in bonds of sugar.

ATP(Adenosine Trisophate)

  • ATP releases energy by breaking Phosphate bonds.
  • Major source of energy in cellular reactions.

Fermentation

  • An energy back up for ATP production when even ETC is shut down.
  • The chemical breakdown of a substance by bacteria, yeast, etc.
  • Typically involving effervescence and the giving off of heat.
