HOW JAZZ BEGAN

• Jazz really started to become popular in New Orleans
• Brass Bands were started throughtout New Orleans
• Troops that came back from the Spanish American War had european brass instruments that were sold cheap
• Many people played jazz throughout the streets and at festivals
• Many people started to hear about the jazz music and started making jazz songs which made the genre

• Jazz was created in New Orleans
• It started in the late 1800s and the early 1900s
• It was created because they wanted to make a mixture of different kinds of music
• Ex: Creoles, Italian, African, European
