Copy of Science Friction

A simple presentation to aid a hands on class exploring forces.

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Science Friction

Today we will observe and measure how the movement of objects is changed by applying forces.
We will look at balanced forces, friction and Newton's laws of motion.

Newtons 3 Laws of motion

  • If an object is not being pushed or pulled it will either stay still or move in a straight line for ever
  • When a force acts on an object it will cause it to accelerate. The bigger its mass the bigger the force required to make it accelerate.
  • Action and reaction are equal and opposite.
