  • Henry VII was crowned on October 30 1485
  • Ended civil between the two dynasties, Yorkies and Lancastrians
  • Married to Elizabeth of York, Daughter of Edward VI, Uniting two dynasties
  • Two Dynasties: York and Lancaster

Two Rebellions

  • First rebels came from the West Country
  • Crushed by Royal army
  • Next rebel came from Perkin Warbeck
  • Start rebellion to become king of England
  • He was still quickly defeated and executed in 1499

The Man On Top Until...

  • He was King Of England
  • Lord of Ireland
  • Then Died on April 22 1509

Rise to the Throne!

  • Henry tried to land in England with some help.
  • He was helped by Francis II, Duke of Brittany.
  • In order to get to the throne he had to defeat Richard
  • Henry tried to quickly attack Richard III to capture the crown
  • Victorious in Bosworth field against Richard III

More than Family

  • Henry was willing to do anything to hold on to is throne
  • So to hold on to it he married his cousin
  • His cousin was Elizabeth of York.
  • They were third cousins
  • The marriage unified the warring houses and gave children some of throne
