THE NORTH

• Culture- based on Puritan ideas from New England.
• Towns/cities - came around commercials that followed shipping and manufacturing hubs.
• Enducation- early public school used to teach kids how to read the bible
• Immigration- large number of immigrants came from Europe looking for jobs
• Slavery- very few, most states outlawed slavery by 1830

THE SOUTH

• Culture- based on strick class structure
• Tows/cities- few because large rivers made large ports
• Education- no pullback because all the rich sent their kids to private school
• Immigration- few because few jobs
• Slavery- still slavery in most parts
