INTERMEDIATE HUES

created by mixing unequal amounts of any two primaries.

HUE

is one of the three characteristics of color. It is the aspect that distinguishes on pigment from another. It is represented on the color wheel

WARM HUES

seem to come forward and are associated with warm or hot objects.

COOL HUES

seem to come forward and are associated with warm or hot objects.

VALUE

is another characteristic of color. It refers to the darkness or lightness of a color.

NEUTRALS

Colors can be darkened or lightened by adding one of the neutrals which are black, white, or gray.

INTENSITY

is the third characteristic of color. It refers to the brightness or dullness of a color. Another name for intensity is color purity.
