Color Story:

Major Colors - Black, Classic Blue, Silver and White.

Minor Colors - Fushia and Bright Yellow

Edgy, Minimal, Modern

Inspiration:
In my 2016 Fall collection I was inspired by the MOD cult film “Blow-Up”. This informed my idea of taking an image of a face and blowing it up and abstracting it into pixels and polka dots to create my own digital prints and sequined garments.

Geographic Location:
Los Angeles and Southern California

Climate:
Winters are mildly cool to warm, with average high temperatures of 68 °F and lows of 48 °F, with occasional rain. Temperatures across the coastal basin rarely drop below 45 °F and the Santa Ana winds can be cool during late fall into the winter season.

TARGET MARKET:DEMOGRAPHICS
My collection is in the upper end of the ready-to-wear spectrum. My target customer is an edgy women who appreciates minimal sportswear inspired design with unconventional materials and unique prints. My Woman wants something new and different while keeping up with new and innovative materials. She is a woman 22-34, she lives in metropolitan areas and has a income of $45,000 to $95,000. She is a modern women who is not afraid to be bold and edgy and is fashion-forward. My Customer has all the newest technology and gadgets. She works in many different fields, such as a Journalist or Blogger, Public Relations, and Graphic Design.

Textiles:
In this collections fabrics support the mood and inspiration of the MOD film "Blow-Up' that influenced my textiles and designs. I used heavyweight fabrics like neoprene, viscose cotton jacquard, sueded textured silk, viscose silk suiting, and perforated leather, which are perfect for the bottom-weights of this Fall collection. I also used silk crepe, silk cotton twill, and polyester ponte knit which are all medium weight fabrics and were used in the top-weight garments . Silk gazaar and silk organza are the lightweight fabrics I used in the skirts that still hold structure and have an rich visual interest. The novelty sequin fabric and application of hand sewn sequin trim in a the form of a face add drama and interest to this collection and supports my Blow-Up inspiration.

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that is produced by polymerization of chloroprene. Neoprene maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range. Neoprene fabric is a fantastic structural material that is perfect for the edgy jacket and dress designs in this collection.

This is a viscose, cotton and polyester jacquard fabric. It has embroidered yarns sewn into an interesting zigzag pattern. It is a nice medium weight fabric that is used as a bottom weight in this collection.

This textile is a silk viscose twill suiting. It is an elegant metallic fabric that is a medium to heavy weight that is perfect for a pair of trousers or jacket featured in this collection.

This is a digital print on a lightweight silk crepe de chine. This fabric is a fine plainwoven fabric produced with all-silk warp and weft filling, these yarns are spun with the twist running in reverse directions and is known as right-hand and left-hand twist. This fabric is used to make blouses and tops to be worn under jackets in this collection.

This embellished fabric is decorated with hand sewn plastic sequins. They are applied all over the fabric to create a highly decorated effect. These sequins are in bright colors and have a dramatic sparkle. This novelty fabric is featured on a dress in the "Blow-Up Collection.

Silk Gazar is a plainweave fabric made from high twist double yarns woven as one. Gazar has a crisp hand and a smooth texture. It hold shape and was the perfect fabric choice for the sheer under layer for my sequin dress and a layerd geometric skirt.
