PRESENTATION OUTLINE

GOOD STEWARDSHIP

BY MATT DENGLER

WHAT IS GOOD STEWARDSHIP?

  • Stewardship is defined as finding the true value of life
  • The first stewards of the earth were Adam and Eve
  • God placed them in The Garden Of Eden and invited them to cooperate with him in his creation
  • We similarly are called today by God to be good stewards

WHAT DOES GOOD STEWARDSHIP MEAN?

  • God told Adam and Eve to "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it"
  • As good stewards, to "Be fruitful and multiply" means to properly use God's natural resources
  • And to do so, in a manner that allows for future generations who "Fill the Earth"

HOW CAN WE BE GOOD STEWARDS?

  • The goods of creation, for which we are stewards, "are destined for the whole human race"
  • This means that all God's resources should be farely used by all.
  • Mankind is failing in good stewardship when the majority of the worlds goods are consumed by only a minority
  • As Christians, we should not let consumerism dominate our lifestyles
  • Rather, in the image of Christ, we should be fair and good stewards of God's natural resources and the individual treasure He has given each of us

GOOD STEWARDSHIP IN CONCLUSION

  • All people are stewards of God's creation
  • We are obligated to be just to each other and to the resources God gave us
  • We must take care to protect and use "The Goods of Creation" as God wills and the Holy spirit guides us
