  • The accident happens during the night
  • The night representing and foreshadowing the dark and somber outcome.
  • Represents how Gatsby and Daisy are blindly rekindling
  • a relationship they're not ready for

PLOT SUMMARY

  • Daisy runs over Myrtle.
  • Daisy keeps driving and doesn't stop the car for her.
  • Gatsby takes the blame for her.
  • Myrtle dies

  • Wealthy people are above all others.
