I DECIDED TO EXPLOR THERE BECAUSE...

  • Mars is almost the same as Earth but Mars is much hotter and much colder at night
  • What we hope to learn about mars though the rover that we will land
  • Why we want to explore there in the first places is because there might be life
  • I want to explore because they might have living creatures that I would like to check out
  • Finally I want to see the biggest mountain , It is three times the side of mount Everest

WHAT WE WANT THE SPACE CRAFT TO DO...

  • I want the space craft to land in exactly 7 min or else it is game over
  • The problems we need to face is getting the rover to go through atmousepherr
  • We want the parachute to fit in its little package so it can come out easily
  • We dont want the suspension lines to snap
  • Also we want to have the heat sheild to come on so nothing burns the rover

SPACE CRAFT PROTOTYPE #1

  • I added a kittchen,refrigerator,and table
  • I put in a bed,pillows,and blankets
  • I thought I should have a movie room,with popcorn,and chairs
  • Also I added a dance floor

SPACE CRAFT PROTOTYPE #2

  • Made a totally new space craft
  • added a rover
  • put a heat shield
  • put in a parachute
  • Also added a rocket that would fly away when the rover has landed

FINAL SPACE CRAFT PROTOTYPE

  • It has a large paper parachute
  • four medium sized suspension lines
  • one bull dog clip
  • And we named it the Rose
  • Finaly tested the parachute and got 2.3 seconds

WHY ARE PARACHUTES IMPORTANT ?

  • Its important to your space craft so when you are landing the rover dose not crash land
  • the parachute is connected to the lines so when the parachute is flying we dont want the lines to snap
  • parachutes are for to land gently
  • how the parachute works is it comes out of its package and it has to fit perfectly so nothing gets cot

TEST TIME!

  • we had to chang the large lines to medium
  • we kept the paper parachute
  • we also tryed the medium parachute but it did not cetch all the air
  • The result was 2.3 seconds

Final parachute !

  • the parachute kept hitting the side of the latter
  • the parachute fell at 2.3 seconds
  • Also Phoebe recorded 3.9 feet/seconds
  • the big sized parachute was good because it cot all the air and landed nicly
  • and the lines did not break or snap

WHAT I LEARNED...

  • I learned that we had to have a right amount of time or else we weren't mission ready
  • I learned that the real parachute from Nasa had 48 lines
  • I also learned that Nasa had only 7 minuets to land the rover
  • Finally I learned that Nasa had a heat shield to go witnh the rover
