EARLY LIFE
- Born October 7, 1931
- Born in Klerksdorp, South Africa moved to Johannesburg at 12.
- Became very ill with tuberculosis
FAMILY
- 2nd of 4 kids
- Mother(Aletta Tutu) cook/maid
- Father(Zacheriah Z. Tutu) teacher
- Father abused mother
EDUCATION
- Bright child--Read.
- Went to Johannesburg Bantu HS
- Wanted to be doctor became teacher
- Went to King's college London
- Bachelor from University of South Africa
KIDS
- Leah & Desmond had 4 & kids
- Daughter Mpho co-authored book with her dad

- By Mpho & Desmond Tutu
- Explains the terrible things the Tutu's saw/heard
- Displays the importance of forgiveness.
