Milton Hershey
- He founded the Hershey Chocolate Company in 1895.
- He created other brands like York, Twizzler, Reese's, and Kit Kat.
- He also founded Hershey, Pennsylvania and had many other accomplishments.
- He also founded the Milton Hershey School and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Biography/INfo
- Milton Snavely Hershey was born on Sept. 13, 1857.
- He was born on the family homestead in Derry Township, Pennsylvania.
- His father was Henry Hershey, another entrepreneur with little success.
- His mother was Veronica "Fanny" Hershey whose values helped Milton succeed.
- Milton was only able to get a 4th grade education due to moving a lot.
Biography/INfo
- Milton left school in 1871 and found he was a natural at producing candy.
- During his starting years he met his future wife Catherine "Kitty" Sweeney.
- They would eventually marry on May 25, 1898 and have a very happy marriage.
- His first successful business was the Lancaster Caramel Company(1887).
- He would eventually die on Oct. 13, 1945 in the very town he started.
An innovator is someone who comes up with new ideas/ inventions that people are going to want.
Milton was like an innovator when he decided to make a tasty milk chocolate and sell it by itself.
A risk taker is someone who takes risk when starting a new business that will probably fail.
Milton was like a risk taker when he decided to form a new business even though his last two had failed.
A strategist is someone who make smart decisions that will help set him on his course to starting a business.
Milton was a strategist when he decided to make his workers as comfortable as he could so they would be able to work more efficiently.
A spark plug is someone who is very energized and enthusiastic about their idea, enough so they can make it a reality.
Milton never gave up on his dreams of starting a successful candy business and continued trying until he created the Hershey Chocolate Company.

The characteristics include ambition, Self confidence, perseverance, energy and self discipline, problem solving ability, ability to motivate others, and willingness to take risks.
Milton showed ambition, perseverance, problem solving skills and willingness to take risks when he continuously tried making his candy businesses to work, never gave up and finally got it to work.
He also showed organizational skills and the ability to motivate others when he was able to set up a town for his workers to live in.
He showed the last trait, self confidence when he was able to continue on with his idea because he believed it would succeed as long as he didn't stop.
