2.
DIRECT VARIATION
Y varies directly with x ( or: x and y are directly proportional) if there is a constant k such that : y=kx
3.
INVERSE VARIATION
Y varies inversely with x ( or: x and y are inversely proportional ) if there is a constant k such that: y=k/x
4.
LINEAR FUNCTIONS
Linear Functions are those whose graph is a straight line
A linear function has one independent variable and one dependent variable
The independent variable is the x and the dependent is y
5.
SYSTEMS OF EQUATIONS
System of Equations is a collection of two or more equations with a same set of unknowns
When solving a system of equations , we try to find values for each of the unknowns that will satisfy every equation in the system
The equations in the system can be linear or non-linear
6.
TRANSFORMATIONS
transformation is a general term for four specific ways to manipulate the shape of a point, a line, or shape
The original shape of the object is called the pre-image and the final shape and position of the object is the image under the transformation
7.
A quadratic function is a second-degree polynomial function of the form , where a, b, and c are real numbers and . Every quadratic function has a “u-shaped” graph called a parabola.
