SIGN OF THE CROSS

  • Aka blessing oneself
  • A ritual blessing made by members of Christianity
  • When using this christians recall what jesus had taught us over 2000 years ago
  • It was originally made in some parts of the christian world only using your hand and thumb across forehead
  • We encounter Christ every time we make the sign of the cross

CRUCIFIX

  • The crucifix is a powerful symbol that prepares us to receive God's grace.
  • Signifies how jesus was put to death 2000 years ago
  • Helps us encounter Christ by stimulating our feelings of faith through prayer.

BROWN SCAPULAR

  • A powerful reminder of faith, hope, and love
  • Must be worn on shoulders in a manner that one part hangs in the front
  • Those who die wearing this sacramental shall not suffer eternal fire
  • We encounter Christ with this sacramental by spending eternal life with him

ROSARY

  • It is a fatim which means a garden of roses
  • Symbol of the Virgin Mary is a rose
  • One of the oldest sacramentals in the church
  • We encounter Christ by praying the rosary

HOLY WATER

  • Water blessed by priests
  • Used for baptisms and for blessing objects or places
  • Used to repel evil
  • It means life
  • We encounter Christ with this by blessing ourselves with it
