  • Mom wanted him to be immortal
  • Immersed him in the River Styx

  • Held him by one heel
  • Forgot to dip him in a second time so his heel would be covered
  • Heel remained mortal

ACHILLES HEEL

  • Achilles became a soldier
  • During the battle of the Trojan war he was shot by an arrow in his heel
  • The arrow was poised and some say it was guided by the god Apollo
  • Since he was still mortal in his heel he died
