SEVEN PRINCIPLES OF THE CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHINGS
This teaching tells us that we are to respect human life in all forms. Along with The right to life, this teaching tells us it is our duty as Catholics to keep it sacred. This means that the church does not support things like war, abortion, and euthanasia.
The following picture was taken of protestors in 2003. it displays a peaceful protest of the war in Iraq. I chose this image to represent a congregation of people with many different views and opinions coming together to oppose unnecessary death and war.
IT IS ESTIMATED THAT SOME 400,000 PEOPLE TOTAL
""'War is irrational; its only plan is to bring destruction: it seeks to grow by destroying'

Another firm belief of the church is opposition of abortion. The Catholic Church supports pro-life.the following image was taken at a rally
Condemning the direct killing of an unborn child.
Euthanasia:
the direct killing of a patient suffering from a long term illness.
CALL TO FAMILY, COMMUNITY,
This catholic social teaching calls all Catholics to be involved and participate in their communities. Some examples of this may include:
CARING FOR FELLOW MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY
AND RESPECTING MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY
[A] faith which is lived out in a serious manner gives rise to acts of authentic charity.
-Pope Francis
This teaching tells us that not only are we called to ensure that every person has the right to life, but that they also have any necessities they need to keep them healthy.
The following images represent people living out this social teaching. People usually display this through providing food, clothing, and comfort to those less fortunate.
What we are called to respect in each person is first of all his life, his physical integrity, his dignity and the rights deriving from that dignity, his reputation, his property, his ethnic and cultural identity, his ideas and his political choices.
-pope Francis
This teaching basically just reiterates that we must work to care for the less fortunate in our community.
This teaching tells us that we should take pride in our work and not just view it as a way to make a living. We are also told to respect the work of others, as God intended for us to do.
Grant that migrants in search of a dignified life may find acceptance and assistance.
