GLOBALIZATION: THE CONNECTION OF DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLDWIDE

GLOBALIZATION IN HISTORY

An example of globalization is The Silk Road. The Silk Road is a trade route between China and the Mediterranean Sea. There were exchanges of ideas, people traded goods and foods such as silk, spices, porcelain, and other treasures from the east. This is an economical exchanges

COMMUNICATION:
Modern communication has played a large role in cultural globalization. Today, news and information zips around the world instantly, because of the Internet. People can read about foreign countries as easily as they read their own. Because of globalization, people can hear about national disasters within minuetes of it happening. About 60% of people throughout the world use cellphones. This is an example of political.

TRAVEL:
Increased international travel has helped globalization. Each year, millions of people move from one country to another in search of work. One example is migrant workers, they travel a short distance, such as between the Mexican state of Sonora and go to Califonia. This is an example of economical.

POPULAR CULTURE:
Popular culture has become more globalized. People in the U.S. listen to South African music and read Japanese comic books. India for instance, has a thriving film industry, nicknamed "Bollywood." Some Bollywood movies are very popular. Clothing styles have also become more uniform as a result of globalization. Also, there has been an increasing exchange of foods across the globe. ECONOMY:
The Internet economy has become more globalized in recent decades. International trade is vital to the economies of most countries around the world. Economic globalization has allowed many corporations based in the west to move factories and jobs to less economically developed countries, a process called outsourcing. This is an example of economic.

POLITICAL:
Cultural and economical globalization have caused countries to become more connected politically. Countries frequently cooperate to enact trade agreements. They work together to open borders to allow movement of money and people needed to keep economic globalization working. Because people, money's and computerized information move so easily around the globe, countries are increasingly working to fight crime. Many problems facing the world today cross national borders, so countries must work together. I think that political is the most important part of globalization. This example is political.

1. Companies from wealthy countries can build factories in poorer countries, providing jobs to people in poverty and lowering the price of goods. 2. Increased communication, which leads to greater access to knowledge and the sharing of ideas. 3. Contact between different cultures increases understanding and empathy, which can lead to a more peaceful world.

CONS OF GLOBALIZATION
1. Companies from wealthy countries take advantage of looser laws in developing countries. This can lead to unsafe working conditions and child labor. 2. With access to so many products and media, the world is becoming more similar. Cultures and traditions are being lost.
