NATIVE AMERICAS v. WHITES

SANDY CREEK MASSACRE

  • On November,29 1864 the settlers attacked against the native Americas. The attack was at the village of Cheyenne and Arapho, the chiefs of village is Black Kettle and White Antelope. The war was about conflict and control of the Great Plains.

DAKOTA CONFLICT

  • The Dakota Conflict took place August 17-December 26, 1862. The government was being dishonest to the natives and the natives decided to go to war. The war was in Minnesota, Dakota territory. It started off by natives killing 5 settlers in the woods. John Pope, Henry Hastings, Little Crow and Big Eagle were some people in this.

BATTLE OF LITTLE BIG HORN

  • This battle took place in June 25-26 1876. The place was little big horn river Montana. Crazy horse was in this battle and it was combined tribes vs. U.S army. The battle was because of gold discovery in native land.

TRAGEDY AT WOUNDED KNEE

  • The tragedy at wounded knee was December 29, 1890. James w. Forsyth was involved in the tragedy. The troops came to "disarm" the Lakota because the Lakota won the won the battle at little big horn. The battle was at wounded knee creek South Dakota.
