EARLY LIFE

• In 1942, Chavez quit school in the seventh grade (final year of formal school)
• Because he doesn't want his mom work at field.
• He dropped farm work and join United State navy in 1944
• Which is the worst two years in his life.
• Return then married Helen Fabela(high school), move to San Jose, 8children

LABOR LEADER

• 1952, he became an organizer for the Community Service Organization
• In 1962, Chavez left the CSO and co-founded the National Farm Workers Association.
• First strike against grape growers in California in 1965.
• In early 1968, Chavez called for a national boycott of California table grape growers
• All the while, he continued to oversee the union and work to advance his cause.

• He is vegan, never eat animals.
• Because he believed in animals rights and also for his health
