  • First observed by babylonian astronomers

  • Retrograde motion
  • Slowest period of rotation in solar system

  • Venus is a little smaller
  • May have formed like Earth
  • Diameter: 95% like Earth's
  • Mass: 80% of Earth's
  • Gravity: 89% of Earth's

ATMOSPHERE, CLIMATE AND WEATHER

  • Sulfuric acid rain and clouds
  • Average Temp. 465 degrees
  • Solar heating
  • 95% surface is sulfied folcide lava

SURFACE

  • Thousands of small volcanos but 168 larger than 10km in diameter
