When did it start?

Jazz music starting in 1895 in New Orleans.

As soon as you listen to jazz music, you'll hear the swing, syncopation, bent notes, modes, and improvisation. Cause that's what jazz is all about!

Charles Mingus lived from 1922-1979. He was a all about that bass!! His music had the energy of a revolution during the 50's and the 60's!

John Coltrane lived from 1926-1967. By the age of nineteen he was learning the mathematics of jazz. Let me tell you, he was a "saxy" player.

Mary Lou Williams lived from 1910-1981. She was known for he composing and piano playing. She was also known as the most important woman in jazz.

Herbie Hancock was born in 1940 and still currently lives today. He was one of the few jazz pianists who progressed with the time.

Keith Jarrett was born in 1945 and still currently lives today. He was the most phenomenal technique. He also inspired many people with his playing.

Kurt Elling was born in 1967 and still currently lives today. His music has a vey moving feeling to it.
