1: FREEDOM OF RELIGION

  • Government cannot favor one religion
  • People cannot treated differently because of religion
  • They prohibit the congress from establishing an official religion

2: FREEDOM OF SPEECH

  • People can say what's on there mind without fear
  • The 8 things can be protected are:
  • Face to face discussions, lectures
  • Free speech, telephone conversations
  • Art, music, cloathing, internet communication

3: FREEDOM OF PRESS

  • What the press believed:
  • (3 forms) news paper, magazines ,printed publications
  • (3 forms +) media & radio, television computer networks
  • General beliefs (censorship)can't contain printed materials, films

4: FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY

  • Protected to gather in groups for any reasons (peaceful)
  • They have a right to attend:
  • 1. Meetings 2. Parades 3. Political rallies 4. Public celebrations
  • They also have the right to form or join social clubs,
  • Also political parties, labor, unions and other organizations

5: FREEDOM TO PETITION

  • A petition is a formal request
  • We believe this right means:
  • The right express ones ideas to the goverment
