  • THIS DISORDER CAUSES THICK MUCUS TO BUILD UP IN THE LUNGS.

SYMPTOMS

  • Coughing
  • Belly pain
  • Nasal congestion
  • Gas
  • Nausea

INHERITANCE

  • CYSTIC FIBROSIS IS PASSED DOWN THROUGH FAMILY MEMBERS.

LOCATION

  • IT IS LOCATED ON HUMAN CHROMOSOME 7 OR THE CFTR GENE.
  • THIS DISORDER IS NOT LIKELY TO OCCUR IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION

TREATMENTS

  • Antibiotics
  • Flu vaccines
  • Oxygen therapy

RESEARCH

  • THE CF FOUNDATION IS TESTING AND TRYING TO FIND A CURE.
  • THE FOUNDATION ALSO HAS A PIPELINE OF THERAPIES.
