PRESENTATION OUTLINE

NEURONS

BY:ROMARI AND NAVALAN

DENDRITES

  • The extensions that branch of the cell body
  • They receive info from sensory organs
  • In the model, dendrites are the parts that stick out
  • With out dendrites we wouldn't be able to function

AXON

  • It's the large stem in the middle of the neuron
  • Each neuron only only has one
  • There are Schwann cells and the myelin sheath
  • The node of ranvier connects each myelin sheath together
  • On one end there is a dendrite, and an axon terminal

AXON TERMINAL

  • Ends one side of axon
  • Forms a synapses with other neurons
  • The axon terminal is the ending part of our model
  • There are neuron transmitters at the end of the axon terminal
  • This is where the synapses is formed

SYNAPSES

  • They contain transmitters
  • The message passes through the axon is tran
  • -smitted to the next cell through a junction which is the synapses
  • It is very important

MYELIN SHEATH

  • It's a fat layer surrounding the axon
  • It is protection for the axon

NODE OF RANVIER

  • It is the white part
  • It connects the axon pieces

SCHWANN CELL

  • It is in the myelin sheath

NUCLEUS

  • Contains DNA and genes
  • Every cell has one
  • It is the dot on the end of the axon
  • It's beside the dendrites
