ADDING LIKE TERMS

THE FIRST STEP IS TO MAKE A GRAPH

THE WAY YOU GET THE NUMBERS ON THE GRAPH,

IS YOU PUT THE NUMBERS THAT HAVE VARIABLES, UNDER IT'S OWN SIDE

THE NUMBERS IN THE PICTURE BELOW HAVE VARIABLES BESIDE THEM,

BUT SOME NUMBERS DON'T HAVE VARIABLES BESIDE THEM

AFTER YOU MAKE THE GRAPH, YOU FIND THE VARIABLES AND MAKE GROUPS

FOR EACH VARIABLE OR PLAIN NUMBER

THEN YOU FIND OUT IF THE NUMBER IS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE

THAT DIFFERS ON WHAT THE ANSWER WILL BE

IF IT'S NEGATIVE THEN YOU HAVE TO SUBTRACT,

IF IT'S POSITIVE YOU ADD

THEN WHEN YOU GET THE NUMBER FOR THAT ROW, YOU GO ONTO THE NEXT ROW

AND WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THE NUMBERS FOR EACH ROW, YOU ADD OR SUBTRACT

DEPENDING ON IF IT'S A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE NUMBER

THEN YOU HAVE YOUR ANSWER, DO NOT ADD!
