• Mexico ranges from many climates which means various houses.
• A folk housing in Mexico is the Adobe style.

Believed Origin of Adobe Folk Housing

• Adobe houses are believed to have originated from Egypt in around 3800 BC
• The climate in Egypt provided ideality for Adobe Houses
• "Adobe" stands for type of clay used to form sun-dried bricks
• Adobe Houses have been modified across the world by different groups.
• Even though this idea is widespread, Mexican Adobe Style is a folk itself.

Diffusion of Adobe Houses

• Egypt was one of the largest empires ever and this set an example for many.
• During Egyptian turmoil, many fled and brought this house type with them.
• Throughout time, spread to almost all sunny, extreme temperature regions.
• This idea diffused primarily through relocation diffusion. 
• Adobe ideas were brought west due to Middle Eastern and African immigration

Materials/Items of Adobe Houses

• Generally Adobe Houses contain the most basic appliances, if any.
• The house is made out of clay and straw and then dried in the sun
• Mexico adobe houses may or may not have roofs depending on rainfall
• Typical appliances include well, (sometimes plumbing), beds, cabinets, etc.
• For kids, a play room is typically present with Latin American folk games. 

Materials/Items of Adobe Houses

• Generally, these houses contain small yards and are close to neighbors
• Because Adobe houses are present in dry areas, cars are not super common.
• Without multiple cars, garages are not needed.
• Unlike privileged communities in MDC's, mutual amenities are not present.
• Fences are made of Adobe as well and are mainly used for privacy or pets.
