TAKING A BATH

STEPS

  • Undress in the first room
  • Rinse your body down outside tub
  • Relax in water
  • Get out of the tub and wash with soap
  • Rinse of then go back and relax in tub

"FUN" FACTS

  • The typical japanese bathroom has 2 rooms
  • They also believe in not getting into a tub "unclean"
  • The 1st room consist of the sink. The 2nd is a shower/tub
  • You first rinse down in/with a wash bowl
  • The toilet is usually located in a seperate area

SPLISH SPLASH I WAS TACKEN A BATH

  • The bathtubs today can be programed to fill on its own with right temp.
  • Japanese bath are alot warmer than ours
  • After one person is done the next person goes
  • This is why they rinse out side of the tub so the water can stay clean

MORE FACTS

  • The typical bathtub is deep enough for the water to cover the shoulders
  • The bathtub is a place to relax and think it is one of their rituals
  • The tubis square and you have to sit with your knees pulled to your chest
  • After the japanese are done bathing they use the hot water for laundry

  • In most homes the oldest male goes first
  • If there is a grandmother they will go first
  • IF there are guests staying with a family they go first
  • IF the home has a bigger bath then the family will usually take it together
  • Even as children get older they still might bathe with their parents

  • At a small apartment they have group baths
  • At an inn they have a regular bath in your room
  • Or you have a scheduled bath time
