  • Railroads provided cheap transportation for goods and travelers.
  • They shaped sense of time, having communities set their clocks by the sun.
  • They also increased job opportunities and the national economy.

  • Cherokee Nation vs. Georgia: court case deciding Native's removal.
  • Natives were kicked off of their land if there were important resources.
  • Removal act of 1834: Cherokees move westward of the Mississippi
  • Removal act of 1834 lead to the Trail of Tears, which many Natives died.
