They shaped sense of time, having communities set their clocks by the sun.

Cherokee Nation vs. Georgia: court case deciding Native's removal.
Natives were kicked off of their land if there were important resources.
Removal act of 1834: Cherokees move westward of the Mississippi
Removal act of 1834 lead to the Trail of Tears, which many Natives died.
