PRESENTATION OUTLINE
About
- Computer Engineering has two branches: software and hardware.
- It also focuses on how the computer systems integrate into society.
- It is mainly about designing and programing of devices.
- It also includes a robotic research, which involves creating.
Requirements
- You need to train in electronic engineering, software design, & hardware.
- It includes writing software and firmware(remot control).
- Also embedded microcontroller(small computer on a single circuit).
- It also recommends designing in general.
Qualifications
- Many institutions require students to choose an area of depth.
- Other institutions require students to compete general engineering,
- and then choose a specific field.
AVERAGE WAGE OR SALARY
- The average is $89,000 per year.
- The minimum is $56,000 per year.
- The maximum is $140,328(+) per year.
Employment outlook
- It held about 1.3 million jobs in 2010.
- And it is projected to increase much faster than the average jobs.
Unfortunately Computer Engineering is not yet applicable in Honduras.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Computer Engineers usually work in:
- offices with comfortable surroundings or in computer laboratories
opportunities for advancement
- Beginners usually test computer systems.
- When they gain experience they start to design their own hardware/software.
- And for those who have good organization skills may become project managers
Computer Enginering deals mainly with people and data. The people make the process and devices; and the data is used for the programing and designing.
Similar or related occupations
- Aerospace Engineering
- Computer Programing
- Electrical Engineering
- System Analysts
I actually consider myself to classify for this career, because I like to solve problems, and to work on math. The most interesting fact about this is that you can create and design new devices.
Computer Engineering is very intersting to me because by creating a program or a device, you are able to help society with whatever problem there might be. I see it very important because it involves a purpose.
