It is engraving carved by priest praising the pharaoh. It also explained new laws. It is written in 3 forms, hieroglyphic,demotic and Greek for so the priests and rulers of Egypt could read it.

The Rosetta Stone was found by Pierre Francois Bouchard, a French soldier in 1799 when they were building a fort in Egypt.

A French linguist called Jean Francis Champollion finally deciphered thee Rosetta Stone. He had knowledge Greek and demotic Egyptian language. He is known as the first translator of the Rosetta Stone.
