Alcohol

-it's detrimental and pose a major threat to your oral health if consumed in excess,
-when alcohol is consumed in combination with tobacco, there is a synergistic increase in its damaging effect,
- 3 times more likely to suffer severe gum disease,
- greater risk of developing cancer of the mouth, throat and esophagus .....

-in chemistry, alcohol is often used as a drying agent and it does the same in your mouth, creating an acidic environment which then softens the enamel ,

-added to the high sugar levels in many types of alcohol and the reduced salivary flow, May subject you to caries,

-it's best adviced to wait 30 minutes before brushing so as to give the saliva enough time to remineralize the enamel already softened by the acid.
