  • Throughout Africa
  • Australia's cool and wet E. Coast
  • Australia's warm and dry N. Coast
  • Parts of South America
  • Brazil, Bolivia, Columbia, Venezuela

WHO LIVES THERE?

  • Lions, Cheetahs, Jaguars
  • Hyenas, Dingos, Meerkats
  • Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos
  • Gazelles, Wildebeests, Giraffes
  • Zebras, Baboons, Termites

POACHING

  • Illegal hunting
  • Leads to endangerment and extinction
  • Some animals being poached:
  • Elephants - Ivory Tusks
  • Leopard - Skins

SAVANNA BURNING

  • Many savannas are burnt each year
  • Cleared to make room for farming
  • Releases toxins that affect human and animal health
  • Studies show toxin levels are much higher after burnings
  • Carbon dioxide released remains in the atmosphere for years

WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT?

  • Home to a huge variety of animals
  • Home to many endangered species
  • If disturbed, it could cause a ripple effect and disturb other biomes
  • Important minerals such as titanium and uranium are found here
